I need to remove broken front passenger park lamp/turn signal from my 2001 Ford F150 truck. Can someone please help?

Q: Is there a "do it yourself" way of reprogramming computer to recognize a new key made for 2001 F150 truck?
Lost original truck keys for 2001 F150 truck. I had a new key made that unlocks both doors, and ignition but will not start the truck. Computer needs to be programmed to allow this key to start it. I understand that it is not recognizing this key, therefore, computer is not allowing current required to spark it up.

A: Bikertrash is not really correct there, you go to the FORD dealership and expect to pay some money, they charge a astronomical amount of money for a key. Now, you have a key, with a big holder then its a "Transponer Key" which is just like a laser cut key. NO ONE CAN STEAL IT. I have one of those, they key cost me 1.50 and 35.00 to program it for my truck. If you just a have a small regular key, then there goes a 1.50. Go to your locol locksmith, and they will be able to do it. DEFFINATLY cheaper then FORD.

Q: where is the fuel pump located on the ford 2001 f150?
im looking for the fuel pump on the 2001 ford f150 and i have a full tank of gas and don't wanna drop the gas tank and wanna take the bed off and i don't know where it at?

A: You will need to drop the fuel tank, as the pump is part of the fuel module assembly. There,s no other way of getting the pump replaced otherwise. Good luck

I have a 7.5" fab-tech suspension and size 305/70/16 tires on my 2001 f150 4.6 v8 so i know this puts a strain on my tranny but what are some upgrades that I can do to my tranny to up the life of it?thanks for any answers/suggestions

A: 1.) Agreed with Eric: Upgrade your transmission cooler. 2.) Switch to a good synthetic transmission fluid and rear axle gear oil such as Royal Purple. 3.) Consider going to a higher-ratio gearset, if one is available. You'll lose a little highway fuel economy, but get much better performance out of the 4.6 V8 over the automatic. Good luck!

The Ford dealer is quoting over $4000 for new parts and labor and $2600 for a used assembly and labor. This seems outrageous.

A: Might seem spendey but could be worth while. yes it does seem high look on internet or in salvage yards.

A: Procharger is one of the best. They sell a complete kit. I believe that Ford made the "Lightning" and some later models came with a supercharger.

Q: what is the easiest way to install tow hooks on a 2001 f150?
i know the best place would be inside the frame but I dont know what would fit! I would really like to install some d-ring shackles but I dont know how I could get those to fit.CAN SOMEONE GIVE ME SOME ADVICE PLEASE?

A: I have been towing since 1973 and the Ford F150 already has what we call T hook slots in the frame, if you look on the frame up high just in front of the front wheel you will see a slot in the frame so if you get a chain with a T hook or an R hook it will fit right in the slot and you can pull it any where you want to although I wouldn't recommend it unless you pull the drive line out of it, even if you have a standard Transmission towing it on the ground with the drive line in it will probably cost you a Transmission

Q: How much would you estimate the damages to be? 2001 F150?
My husband ran into a really large ditch. He thinks he heard something pop on impact. The front bumper, passenger quarter panel, rear panel and running boards need replaced. When the wheel is straight one tire is straight the other is at an angle. It starts and will go (straight with steering wheel turned sideways) and the transmission seems to be not shifting correctly. Also, the passenger window will not go up. Any idea what the cost to fix will be? or if the transmission problems are from the accident Also there is suspension damage in the front end. If the transmission turns out to not be an issue what would you guess then?

Q: How do I replace my clockspring and horn button (switch) on my 2001 F150 Lariat V8 5.4?
I pounded my horn very hard after a woman pulled out in front of me and the horn got stuck, then it went out after I hit it again. I checked the relay and fuse and those are fine. I am told it is probably the clockspring and/or horn button located inside the steering wheel. Does anybody have instruction on how to replace the two items? Also, is this a DIY project or is it a dealer only repair?

A: The horn buttons are part of the air bag module are are replaced as a unit. Replacing the clockspring will not be tough if you are use to working on vehicle electric systems, just unhook the battery and wait a few minutes, remove the air bag module, remove the steering wheel, the clockspring will be next, just un hook the lower wire connector, remove the mounting screws and carefully remove the clockpring assy. The new one goes in the same way, just get it bolted down and the pull the locking tab out of it. Before you get to carried away, if the clockspring is bad you will most likely have an air bag light on also along with a cruise control that doesn't work.
