Q: Compatability of a 2001 F150 XLT suspension onto a 1995 F150 XLT?
I have suspension for a 2001 F150 and want to know if it will work in a 1995 F150.

A: Nothing will swap over. The 97-03 used a SLA setup, with CV joints used to turn the front wheels (in 4x4 apps). The pre-97 models used a Dana 44 with a hinge in the middle (TTB) they have nothing in common.

Q: Can you install the interior from the King Ranch Ford F150 2000 series into a Ford F150 xlt 2001.?
I want the two bucket seats, middle console, and back seats?

A: I would expect this to be a direct bolt in which very few complications. These trucks are all based on the same platform and it would be pretty safe to assume that they are designed and built in such a way to make them universally adaptable to any configuration that was available in an F-series in any given year.

Q: 2001 ford f150 xlt supercrew pick up?
i have a 2001 ford f150 xlt supercrew cab like this (http://stwnewspress.autoconx.com/photos/715/500164715_1_B.jpg) but i wanna new engine i want to do a chevy 454 like this (http://www.proformanceunlimited.com/specs/454_500hp.html) do you know if it will fit? well you can make it fit but how much work do you think it would be?

A: you can make it fit and change all the electric and fuel connections and the tranny and the driveshaft and all assessories like ac and alernator, but for aboiut the same amount of money you could buy one of each

Q: I am getting a trouble code P1406, in my 2001 F150 XLT Super crew, 4.6L?
Looked up the code and it says it is the Manufacturer Auxillary emission controls. I think it is either the ERG valve or a O2 sensor. Where do I find either one of those on the engine? Where are they phycically located?

A: usually the code talks about the hoses being off or broken... these are very short hoses that we haven't really had issues with.. as everyone else said however, the DPFE was known for issues including have a extended warranty on your model and year for that issue (don't worry about going see the dealer for it, the warranty expired last year for your truck I'm guessing) Unless it's one of the first 01s (that I think used the dpfe sensor with long hoses .. where I'd change both hoses and the sensor).. my guess is you have the problematic square box that fits almost directly ontop the tubes and is bad... one of the things it does when bad is set off weird egr codes like this one

Q: Getting a P0401 trouble code, where I do look first?
I got a 2001, F150 XLT, 4.8L, V8, with 60K miles on the engine. This type of engion does not have a DPFE sensor installed before anyone says that is the problem. I replaced the EGR valve yesturday and drove a few miles before the check engine light came on. The trouble code says it "insufficient air flow" . Where exactly do I look first? What types of things should I keep an eye out for?

A: One suggestion would be that the intake passages have a large amount of carbon build up. This would restrict egr flow and set an "insufficient air flow" code. Three possible fixes: 1. Use a high quality fuel system cleaner for the next 3-4 tanks of fuel, that may help to clean out the carbon deposits. 2. Remove the egr valve and try to run very small wire brushes into the intake to remove the carbon. One draw back to this is that carbon pieces will become dislodged and may cause a valve to stick. 3. Remove the intake and have it hot tanked at an engine rebuilding shop.

Q: Ford F150 Ford XLT 4.2 liter. Motor and Transmission?
I own a 2001 Ford F150. Looking to purchase a new motor and transmission on line. Have you ever purchased a engine or transmission on line? I reside in Texas. Could you recommend a web site? I would even be willing to upgrade this engine to a beast, any ideas? My truck has over 237,000 miles on it. I would rather repair it than to pay FORD another dime. I don't want to get back into the rat race with new truck payments at this time. I'd rather be fishing:~)

A: i:ve been a big ford fan fer some time.mostly mopar! i would suggest is to consult your local scrap(junk)yards for the best deals.sometimes you will find a 302 and trans. cheep. i guess it's not a big block?sence it's a F 150 now thair is some people in tx. that do know how to build blocks>that is monster motors. let me look at....$350 low milage motor and trans(tight trans)teardown new internal parts,(line bore, set bearings, rebuild heads, set carbuator, flush tranny+lines, you are looking around,(in the mid west $1000 bt TX. may be cheeper. but find someone who has a good record on selling used equiptment!!! u got me going! TKS.

Q: Please... F150 gas mileage?
Im looking at buying a 2001 ford F150 Supercrew xlt. I was wondering if anyone has owned one and what sort of gas mileage they get. The internet says about 14-19.

A: City 10-12 Highway 14 - 18,.

Q: Any used car experts around or dealers can help?
I need some help buying used... I have my eye on a 2001 F150. Its exactly what I've been looking for. Its a little older than I want, but it only has 79,000 miles on it.. so to me the life-cycle should outlast a 04/05 with 90+K on it. So, anyway.. How do I negotiate the best deal. is 10,800 too much for an 2001 XLT extended cab, 4x4 with a 78.8" box? Even if 10,800 is fair, how do I negotiate less? I have a budget in mind. bluebook is $9,800 with exact options, etc... okay, I could really use the help. I have a fixed budget and I'm not a 'car' guy. Vehicles are tools to me, not status symbols..

A: First rule of car buying........ Never buy a Ford crap!!!!!!!!!!

Q: Window problems?
I have a ford f150 2001 model, it is the xlt, i have had a aftermarket radio installed for some time, i took the harness out and the radio and put the stock back in, everything worked with the radio and everything on my truck worked. So i cut it off went to sleep and woke up the next morning and i was going down the road and my windows didn;t work and my radio would not play? What could have happened. Would one fuse control both the radio and the win dows though?

A: sounds like you blew a fuse. they could both be on the same circuit definately. if it happens again sounds like one of the wires from the adapter you replaced are touching something.

Q: Is this a symtom of a stopped up trans filter?
When i put my truck in reverse it doesnt move at all. i can give it gas the it will feel like its slipping then it will jerk real hard and go. I dont have this problem in forward gears only reverse. it is a 2001 ford f150 4x4 5.4 xlt ext cab with 163,000 miles just to be specific. its never done this before i've never had a problem with the drivetrain at all in the past 2 years i've owned it. Anyone know for sure what is causing this? how much would it run to service the entire trans?

A: The trans needs a full service."IE" Drained & flushed, bands tightened, new filter & gaskets, the best trans oil you can afford to put in.Not sure if you got, floor, dash or column mount selector. If other than floor mount wouldn't hurt to tighten up all the linkages,to get rid of excessive, play thereby making it easier to get what you select.Hope this helps you.PS auto trans should be serviced every 100.000ks or 60.000 miles, then they just keep on going..Good luck
