Q: buying a 2007 f150 fx4 stuck between two options 5.4l v8 or 5.4l v8 flexible?
one has the 300 hp 5.4l v8 and the other one has a 300hp 5.4l flexible. what the hell is a flexible engine? no one at the dealership could tell me anything other than that they are both identical
also with these trucks does the seatbelt light blink nonstop and have buzzers going off when you dont wear it
the reason for the seatbelt question is i tend to forget and always need a friendly reminder
A: The flexible with run on E85 (85% Ethanol, 15% gasoline) or gasoline or anywhere in between. E85 does not make sense economically, even though it costs less, the difference in price is not enough to make up for the loss of fuel economy.
If you want to modify the truck in the future, go with the flexible because it has the capability to inject more fuel into the engine. If you will not - they are identical - as the dealer says.
EDIT: wear your seatbelt - it is common sense and the law.
Q: Trailor wiring from 4 way to 7 way round plug?
I am wondering, without an adapter. How do I hook up a 4 wire trailer wiring to a round 7 way plug for my truck (2007 F150 FX4)?
I know green is R/turn and yellow is L/turn. Brown is running lights and white is ground.
I hook these up to the round plug and all works good until I hit the breaks and all lights shut down. How do I fix this?
My mistake, turn signals don't work either. Only running lights and they shut down when brakes are applied.
ok, I take it that...
trailer wire................plug end color
yellow>>>>>>>>>>>>red
green>>>>>>>>>>>>brown
brown>>>>>>>>>>>>green
white>>>>>>>>>>>>>white
thx

Does your truck have separate turn and stop lights? if so, you may need a converter.
Q: 2006FX4 or 2007 XLT?
Would you rather buy a 2006 Ford F150 FX4 private owner with 47000 or a 2007 XLT lease return with 34000 miles. 2007 is one grand more. Both are at dealers.
A: I would not lease, personally I like the FX4 and would get better deal from private owner.
